People keep asking us for one shared calendar for everything happening in Stranda municipality – and we already have one at iStranda.no.
iStranda is run by Stranda Frivilligsentral, the local volunteer centre. Here you will find a shared activity calendar for the whole of Stranda municipality, where clubs, organisations, businesses and others can show what they have going on.
The aim is to make it easier for residents and visitors alike to find out what is happening in our villages.
More than just a calendar
iStranda also gives you an overview of clubs, organisations and activities in the municipality, with information and contact details.
So the site is not only for when you wonder what is on this weekend. It can also help you find a club to get involved in, a hobby you want to try, or the right person to contact if you would like to join.
One place where everyone can find their way
Much of what happens in the municipality is shared in local Facebook groups today, and these are still important channels for reaching people. At the same time, Facebook's algorithms and search make it hard to catch everything, even if you are a member of the right groups.
For new residents, newcomers and visitors it can be even harder. If you do not know what the local groups are called or where to look, a lot of the information stays hidden.
That is exactly why a shared activity calendar is so useful. On iStranda, everyone can go to one place and see what is happening across the whole municipality.
